# Chargebacks

A chargeback pulls a card payment back after it has settled. The chargeback amount comes out of the firm's chargeback bank account. That account is configured in Confido and can be different from the trust or operating account the original payment was deposited to. On a bank account, `isChargebackAccount` is true for the chargeback account.

A chargeback is its own transaction with `type: chargeback`. The original payment's `status_v2` becomes `CHARGED_BACK`.

## Won chargebacks

When the firm wins a chargeback, Confido creates a new transaction with `type: chargeback_reversal`. That transaction credits the chargeback bank account. The chargeback transaction's `status_v2` becomes `RETURNED`. The original payment stays `CHARGED_BACK`.

Query transactions and look for `type: chargeback_reversal`. That transaction is the won chargeback.
