# Vendors

## vendorCreate

Use the `vendorCreate` mutation to create a vendor before collecting payment details. Only **name** is required. For complete input and result types, see the [GraphQL Playground](https://api.sandbox.gravity-legal.com/). Firm admins and firm users can create vendors.

**addresses** and **contacts** are optional lists and may be empty. Each provided address must include a ZIP code. Each provided contact must include a name, email, or phone number.

**businessType** is optional. When omitted or set to `null`, it remains unset; it does not default to LLC. The `Vendor.businessType` response field can be `null`.

When saving a stored disbursement method, the form requests any missing details required by the selected processor. After a successful save, those details fill missing fields on the vendor. Existing vendor details are preserved.

## vendorUpdate

Use the `vendorUpdate` mutation to change vendor details. Omitted fields remain unchanged. Send an empty **addresses** or **contacts** list to clear it, or `null` for **businessType** to clear the business type. Provided addresses and contacts use the same validation as `vendorCreate`. Firm admins and firm users can update vendors.
