# Firm Declined Status

We are introducing a new `FirmStatus.DECLINED` enum value to the `firm.status` field. A firm will be assigned this status if it does not meet our underwriting requirements.

`FirmStatus.DECLINED` is a terminal state. By the time a firm reaches this status, our underwriting team has already requested follow-up documentation and the firm has still not satisfied the required criteria.
