A chargeback pulls a card payment back after it has settled. The chargeback amount comes out of the firm’s chargeback bank account. That account is configured in Confido and can be different from the trust or operating account the original payment was deposited to. On a bank account, isChargebackAccount is true for the chargeback account. A chargeback is its own transaction with type: chargeback. The original payment’s status_v2 becomes CHARGED_BACK.

Won chargebacks

When the firm wins a chargeback, Confido creates a new transaction with type: chargeback_reversal. That transaction credits the chargeback bank account. The chargeback transaction’s status_v2 becomes RETURNED. The original payment stays CHARGED_BACK. Query transactions and look for type: chargeback_reversal. That transaction is the won chargeback.
